Hatha Yoga**

The class consists of Yoga Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing) and relaxation.

Breathing

I try to emphasise the importance of proper breathing and its relationship to the mind; that if we can establish a steady rhythm to the breath we send a message to the nervous system that all is well.

Posture

How we hold ourselves can say so much about us. I try to teach people in posture practice to find that important place between too much tension and/or too much relaxation in the body.

Relaxation

At the end of the yoga session there is time to relax and a time for people to really let go. When we do this we allow the body and mind to relax deeper. A proper breathing thythm is re-established and we feel more meditative and therfore less affected by our thoughts.
