Marathon Man

Johnny Moore

Long-standing Hogarth and Park Club member Johhny Moore will be running the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of Project Trust, a charity for which he is both a trustee and board member.

A self-confessed 'novice runner' when he took on the challenge, he has already made great strides (pun intended) with the help, support and coaching of our Group Fitness Manager and recent Iron Man Wales competitor, Terry Rodham.

The challenge came about during a Project Trust board meeting and his training began back in October last year. "My fellow board members stitched me up by nominating me to run on their behalf and raise a whopping £10,000, even though I am (was) a novice runner!"

Despite initially being way out of his 'comfort-zone, Johhny is now relishing the task at hand and his training programme according to Terry. "I have been coaching this finely tuned athlete which has been amazing; to see him relish every challenge and grow as a very well established runner as weeks pass."

We will update you on Johnny's progress between now and the big day but in the meantime, feel free to read more about Project Trust at http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/johnnymoore4projecttrust. As Johnny says, "Thanks to Terry, I have made some real progress, but I need all the help I can get with the fundraising."
