Acupuncture
Acupuncture's first effect is to improve the energy levels of patient, as this affects the body-mind-spirit. Very fine, sterile stainless steel needles are used at specific acupuncture points on the body. The stimulus triggers the body's autoimmune system (defences) to activate various host cells to improve wellbeing. Immune reaction is an individual matter, depending on defence within; young people need less invasive treatment than older people. It provides a safe and effective treatment of many simple ailments; headaches, migraine, neck-shoulder and arm pain due to acute or chronic inflammatory disorders, low back pain, chronic sinusitis, asthma, hay fever, bronchitis, rhinitis, osteoarthritis of the spine and extremities, chronic degeneration of the spine, ankylosing spondylitis, cervical and lumbar spondylitis, rheumatoid changes, polymyalgia (inflamed muscle and connective tissue), herpes zoster (shingles), polyneuritis, insomnia, hypertension, irritable bowel, paralysis after stroke, Bell's palsy, ME, and substances abuse.

Uby Munoz - Acupuncturist and Shiatsu practitioner
I am a Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncturist and Shiatsu practitioner with 22 years of clinical experience.
I specialise in pregnancy from fertility through to childbirth. I also help patients suffering from muscular and joint pains,
migraines, problems with digestion and circulation systems, allergies and emotional imabalances as well as helping patients who wich to maintain and promote health as a way of preventing illness.
I taylor each treatment according to the patient's individual needs, which are identified through the detailed case history which is explored at the first session. I then use a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques such as needlework, moxibustion, cupping, magnets and Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a traditional healing therapy that uses the fingers and palm of one's hand to apply pressure to particfular pressure points and meridians for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body.
I have studied Chinese Medicine since 1977 when I was first introduced to the subject when I translated a book on macrobiotics. I then went on to study Shiatsu at the British School of Shiatsu-Do in 1984 and have been practising shiatsu since then. I studied Acupuncture through an intensive three year course at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in 1997. I have also taught at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and the School of Five Elements Acupuncture in addition to my acupuncture and shiatsu practises, I am a registered member of both the British Acupuncture Council BAcC and the Shiatsu Society.
I practise Qigong daily which is an aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine that coordinates different breathing patterns with various physical postures and motions of the body for maintenance of health.
