Sports Massage
Massage has long been understood to be an effective treatment for both stress and muscular stiffness and pain. Massage involves the use of both deep tissue manipulation and a combination of gentler therapies to relax and help release muscular tension, stress, bad posture and headaches. Massage can also help heal injuries such as tendonitis that develop over time, as well as ligament sprains or muscle strains caused by an accident. Massage reduces inflammation by increasing circulation, which removes waste products and brings nutrition to injured cells.

Massage treatments assist in the healing of many minor injury problems, helping to prevent these leading to a more serious condition in the long term. When carried out in a complementary role with other therapies, massage can speed recovery.
In addition, for areas that have a change in tension following trauma (whether due to stress from injury, exercise, posture, occupation or emotional factors) the neuro-muscular technique (NMT) known as Trigger Point Therapy is applied by working with the client to relax and release the tension in the local tissues. Then using the muscle energy technique (MET)of Post Isometric Relaxation on areas that are excessively tight , muscles can be stretched beyond their present capability towards what is more normal for the client.
