Art for Christmas at The Hogarth!

Artists At Home Christmas Art Exhibition

24 November to 5 January 2020

Once again this year the Hogarth Health Club is hosting a group exhibition of affordable art just in time for Christmas. The show features some of the many professional and established artists who exhibit in the open studios event, Artists at Home, which takes place every year in June in Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush.

Until 5th January, there will be a wide variety of paintings, prints, drawings and jewellery on display in the Reception and in the corridor at the club. All the work on show will be available to purchase and to take away then and there. Perfect for that special and original Christmas or New Year gift. Please speak to one of the Reception staff if you’d like to buy something.

Fourteen visual artists are exhibiting work from abstract to landscape to figurative; from framed prints and drawings to small oil or acrylic paintings on board or canvas. Please note, that where the work is part of an edition, the artist may have additional copies of the same piece available or may be happy to sell it unframed.

The Artists:

Natalia Bobrova creates impressionistic paintings exploring subtle pastel colours

Rachel Busch’s prints are inspired by the beautiful buildings and structures of West London

Julia Everett paints vibrant oil on canvas abstract seascapes and sunsets inspired by nature and music

Laura Gompertz’s drawings are Inspired by pattern and colour in the natural world

Sally Grumbridge is a painter and printmaker, whose shadow prints have recently been inspired by the great Hogarth himself!

Lucy Strathon’s original prints take inspiration from the layering of colour, playing with scale, reflection, nature and the urban environment

There is also beautiful work by two contemporary jewellery makers in the display cabinet.

Felicity Gail make contemporary jewellery with strong modern designs, using a variety of unusual materials such as piano wire and textiles.

Madelaine Marsh’s works are typically one-off pieces inspired by history, recycling and the pleasure of telling a story.

This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase original art at affordable prices from established artists in time for Christmas and over the festive season! Non-members are welcome to visit the club to view the work during opening times and perhaps have a coffee or food at the Crucial Cafe.
