LA BARRE at The Hogarth Health Club

Thank you so much for attending the recent La Barre taster session at The Hogarth Health Club. We hoped you enjoyed it and are looking to enrol in one or both of the courses beginning in January.

We wanted to follow up on some of the issues raised in the first taster session including footwear, clothing, changes to the room for the actual class and bookings information. If however you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact our and Group Studio & Wellness Manager terry@thehogarth.co.uk.

Footwear

Elena strongly recommends that any participants should invest in leather bottomed ballet or jazz shoes. These will assist you in carrying out all movements in the classes as well as making the classes that much safer. A particular good supplier is Bloch® Official UK Shop For Dancewear & Dance Shoes

Clothing

Elena recommends relatively tight fitting clothing so you and she can see the positions you are holding. It's important to work within your own capability and with tighter fitting clothes Elena can better understand your flexibility and strength and correct your positions based on this.

Changes to room layout & equipmnent

In the first taster session we were missing a 15 metre back bar. This made the class feel overly busy and limit lines of sight to Elena. The 15 metre barre has now been installed reducing the number using the portable barres and thereby solving any stability issues of these centrally positioned barres. In the New Year an additional mirror will also be installed and the overall experienced significantly enhanced.
