Outdoor Classes Open for booking

We are delighted to be able to welcome you back to The Hogarth in this limited capacity, and have done everything we can to keep everyone safe while doing so.

In line with government advice, outdoor areas only are safe to open, under certain restrictions, and all other gym or social facilities must remain closed. *This includes toilets - please note that there are no toilet facilities available at the club.

OUTDOOR CLASSES TIMETABLE

BEFORE YOU COME BACK…

1. Consider whether you are ready physically and mentally to get out and onto the court. Consider your own personal risks and be able to confirm you are "fit" to play by confirming you have read and understood the Health Commitment Statement at https://www.thehogarth.co.uk/health-commitment-statement. You agree not to participate if you have any existing or new medical conditions. You understand that you exercise at your own risk and you are ultimately responsible for your own general health and wellbeing.

2. Are you experiencing COVID-like symptoms? Or have you recently been in close contact to anyone suspected or confirmed to have the virus? If so, it is absolutely vital that you stay indoors and self isolate at home to stop the spread of the virus and for you to fully recover.

WHEN AND HOW CAN I BOOK?

From Wednesday 10 May at 8:00am, we will be opening bookings online for the classes on our outdoor timetable. Each session will be 50 minutes long, with 10 minutes change-over time between classes/tennis bookings. There will be a maximum of 5 participants per class ONLY. It is crucial that we adhere to Social Distancing and stay safe.

These bookings will be made via our brand new online booking system. To do so, you will first need to register your online account.

Once you have done so you can

LOGIN AND BOOK HERE

PLEASE NOTE:

1. Your email address will be the one that you signed up to the club with or what you most recently updated us with.
2. Our rule of booking a maximum of 7 days in advance still applies.
3. As spaces are limited we ask that you are considerate of other members and book only one class per week.

HOW MUCH IS IT ?

We will not be charging members (all of whom are on free freeze) access to these outdoor sessions whilst the Club is closed. We would like to make these available to our members to support you all where we can through this time. Class teachers are being paid as normal for their teaching.

WHERE ARE THE CLASSES?

We are holding the classes on the front or back tennis court as per the class timetable HERE. Please use the timetable to visit correct court and correct side of court.

Group cycle classes will be held on the decking by the back tennis court.

WHAT SAFETY MEASURES ARE IN PLACE, AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PROTECT THOSE AROUND ME?

At the Hogarth we expect all class participants to adhere to the following rules for outdoor classes.

WHAT WE ARE DOING:

• We are enforcing the 2 metre rule of social distancing at all times. You will be asked to do the class within cones in 2m x 2m squares.
• We are sharing no kit or equipment, and anything members or instructors interact with is thoroughly cleaned after use.
• We have put up strict and clear social distancing signage and briefed all instructors on how to lay out classes to ensure attendees stay safe.
• We are allowing 10 minutes between all classes and bookings for safe entry and exit to the courts and any necessary cleaning.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

• Do not come to the club if you feel unwell.
• Do not come to the club if you or anyone in your household develops Covid-19 symptoms.
• Do wash your hands with your own hand sanitiser frequently
• Please be patient, polite and observe all notices, but of course if you have feedback for us please directly contact us.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR BOOKING

• Double check that you have the correct day and time

• Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds using soap before leaving. (Bring hand sanitiser too)

• Avoid using public transport.

• Arrive as close as possible to when you need to be there.

• Avoid touching court gates, fences, benches, etc.

• Allow others to leave before you enter the court - if you need to wait then do so away from the courts and clear of the gates.

• Ensure you leave the class promptly at the end of your class so that it is empty for the next class or tennis booking.

• You do not need to help clean or tidy the area - our instructors have been given time to do this to minimise shared equipment and social distancing and cross contamination risks.

• NO TOILET facilities will be available at the Club, so please plan accordingly!

• Do not congregate after playing. No extra-curricular or social activity should take place.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

So that we are minimising the need for constant sanitising, there will be no mats or kit provided in any outdoor classes on the tennis courts and only the bikes for Group Cycle. Members are encouraged to bring your own water as this isn’t currently available at the Club.

You will need to provide all of your own equipment and make sure to clean them down before and after use. Please do not share any of your equipment. These include:

• Hand sanitiser
• Towel to dry off with
• Full water bottle - please note you will not be able to fill this up on site so be sure to bring an ample amount.
• MAKE SURE to take all of your belongings back home with you, as these will be disposed of if left.

WHAT ABOUT SHARED BIKES IN GROUP CYCLE CLASSES?

So that the bikes do not get damaged from the weather, we have invested in some covers. We ask that ONLY the teacher remove these before the class starts and to replace them carefully at the end. Please do not touch your bike cover.

Once the session is over, we ask that ALL class attendees wipe down their own bike as usual. The cleaning team will then use viral disinfectant to get the bikes ready for the next class.

HOW DO I GET COURT ACCESS?

Both the front and back tennis courts and group cycle deck will be accessible via the big green gate from the car park to the patio. Clear signage will guide you.

WILL THERE BE MUSIC IN THE CLASSES?

Unlike indoor classes, this is one area where we MUST compromise, in consideration to the class on the other side of the net (literally) as well as our neighbours. We trust that you all agree that it’s better to have low-level or no music and see your teacher and each other than not have a class at all.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Outdoor classes on tennis courts:

Whilst we'd love to promise all of our classes will take place under beautiful blue skies and bright sunshine, it's likely that the British weather may have other ideas at certain points.

We intend to run all classes regardless of the weather, with adaptations made to ensure you remain safe at all times. We encourage you and all members wishing to take part in outdoor training to make sure they have suitable clothing for whatever the weather throws at us and understand that we WANT IT TO RAIN FOR BOOT CAMPS!

Please note, no changing facilities are available – the main club remains CLOSED – so please bring your own towel but keep this on your person. Nothing must be shared.

Outdoor Group Cycling

If the weather does get the better of us, then we may not be able to run the class.

WHAT IF I WANT TO DRIVE?

We encourage all members to walk or cycle to the Club and discourage use of public transport, which should be used for essential services only at this time.

The car park will be available for class attendees as normal. Please do not leave your car at the Club.

Please do feel free to provide any feedback on the outdoor classes to miranda@thehogarth.co.uk.

As the courts are completely full, from 8am to 8pm every day, classes (like tennis) are a maximum of 50 minutes long, allowing 10 minutes gap for participants to immediately leave and next on court to arrive. Timings will be strict to comply with social distancing rules and all other adjustments in relation to Covid

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT TENNIS BOOKINGS?

As the courts are completely full, from 8am to 8pm every day, classes are exactly the length on one tennis slot - a maximum of 50 minutes long, allowing 10 minutes gap for participants to immediately leave and next on court to arrive. Timings will be strict to comply with social distancing rules and all other adjustments in relation to Covid 19.

WHEN WILL THE MAIN CLUB REOPEN?

Please note that ALL other areas and facilities of the club are still closed. They are to remain closed until further instruction has been given by the Government and we deem ourselves ready to safely reopen.

We hope you enjoy getting back into your favourite classes, and we can’t wait to welcome you back.
