40 YEARS OF THE HOGARTH CLUB: 1981-2021
HOGARTH: A HISTORY
The Hogarth Club in Airedale Avenue, Chiswick opened in October 1981 in a secluded 2-acres, surrounded by 100 back gardens and just 50 yards from Chiswick High Road. It occupies a site which has been in continuous use for sport and leisure since 1908.
The Hogarth Group was founded in 1959 by our Chairman, Colin White, a surveyor and architect. Patrick White, the younger of Colin’s two sons, commenced work for the family business in 1991. Patrick was tragically killed in a swimming accident whilst in the Seychelles on a family holiday in August 2004. Dan White entered the construction industry in 1981 and established his own firm of building contractors in 1983. Subsequent to his brother’s passing, Dan now fulfils the role of Managing the Group. Sadly, Colin passed away in June 2019 at the grand age of 88.
INNOVATING AND ADAPTING
Redevelopment and refurbishment is a continuous process at Hogarth and, whilst the physical shape of Hogarth has remained virtually unchanged since 1998, considerable investments have been made to the interior décor, new facilities, equipment in all areas of the Club and in technology to support and to develop the business to accommodate our members' needs. Many members and staff have passed through the doors and we still have founder members using the facilities and staff who have been here 30+ years. That should tell you something.
Hogarth is unique, responsive and charming. It’s unconventional but with unsurpassed standards of excellence. Hogarth is an innovator, Industry leader and supporter of the community. It has been Chiswick’s favourite retreat for almost 40 years being a haven of peace and tranquillity where a warm, genial welcome awaits you.
EVENTS, CHARITY AND COMMUNITY
The Hogarth has never shied away from an opportunity to make a splash (quite literally, in the case of our underwater dinner party at The Park Club). Whether we're covering the front tennis court in sand for beach volleyball, flipping a tyre over Hammersmith bridge, or running two bridges in Santa outfits, we have been an active and visible member of the Chiswick Community for our whole existence.

CELEBRATE WITH US ON OCTOBER 30th
It's now time to celebrate that 40 year milestone. On Saturday 30 October 2021 we are holding our 40th Birthday party and we would like to invite you to come and celebrate this momentous occasion with us (Colin would also decidedly approve). Welcome drinks, canapés and an eclectic mix of entertainment can be expected. Reserve your place at Reception - but be quick!
