Upcoming Works: Refurbishment of The Hogarth Bar

UPDATE ON BAR REFURBISHMENT WORKS - 6th August 2025

We thank you & appreciate your patience during our Hogarth improvements, as I am sure most of you are aware we have recently been replacing our bar floor and installing new Air Conditioning units for your comfort as well as new Security Gates for your safety and ease of access.

PROGRESS

As with many ambitious projects, our refurbishment has evolved as we've progressed. It wasn’t until we lifted the existing flooring to see what was underneath did we identify some challenging construction conundrums and fully appreciate the scope of the works. We have adapted and planned accordingly. To lessen the impact on members we brought trades people together at night and have now broken the back of the works.

FINAL PHASE

We are now in the final phase, here’s what to expect:

• Tiling of the stage area followed by clean and grout of the entire floor
• Mirror removal and update of the walls
• Extensive Painting and Decorating
• Installation of Air Circulation unit in the Conservatory to complement the 4 new A/C units
• Installation of Security ‘partition’ alongside new Security Gates
• Extensive testing of new Security Gates

AT PRESENT

We’ve decided to keep using the temporary entrance for Health & Safety reasons but please note, the Bar and Restaurant will be available for food and drink throughout this period so please do continue to follow signage to the respective areas.

Previous bar update - July 2025

We're pleased to announce refurbishment of The Hogarth Bar flooring and installation of new access control gates will start Wednesday 9th July.

Further to our Hogarth Express dated 3 July 2025, we are pleased to announce that the improvement works taking place in The Hogarth Bar will begin Wednesday 9th July 2025. These works will focus on replacing the flooring and will be completed in phases, requiring partial closure of areas within the lounge from time to time (only in the initial phases will access to the main Club be impacted). 

We estimate the project will take approximately 3-4 weeks, but we’ll do everything we can to complete the works sooner.

What to Expect During the Works

•  During works at the far end of Reception (where you usually swipe in), this area will need to close temporarily to allow us to fill a structural void.

•  Alternative entrance: Members may be asked to enter via the fire door near the bike racks, and swipe in will be available at Concierge.

•  Access routes to the bar, restaurant, clinic, and Medispa may be redirected – please follow signage and staff instructions.

•  Where messy works occur, dust partitions will be in place to contain disruption.

•  All temporary entrance routes will be clearly marked.

•  For members following Wimbledon and other sporting events, we’ll do our best to continue showing these throughout the works.

•  Noise will be kept to a minimum, but members who typically work from this area may wish to relocate during certain phases.

These works form the first step in our plans to refresh The Hogarth Bar, including the reinstallation of gates for improved access and circulation. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we carry out these improvements. We’ll continue to keep you updated throughout the project.
