What is the event?

This event is a chance for you to re‐connect with your creative side or to try something new! All levels of art experience are welcome. Spend an evening relaxing with art, wine and good music. Participants are welcome to take their art work home with them! The class will be in the Airedale Bar situated at The Hogarth in the conservatory area.

The workshop will be 2 hours long. Your ticket will include entry, all materials, a glass of red or white wine and your artwork to take home with you. The class will be limited to 10 people so don’t delay in getting yourself and a friend booked in with Reception! Come and enjoy a chilled evening of art, wine and music in a relaxed environment. The perfect way to unwind from the week!

What will we do?

The subject for this class will be portraiture. We will focus on capturing people and building a composition Using charcoal, wax and washes of water applied with a paintbrush, we will focus on capturing people and building a composition/image. You may use a mirror for a self‐portrait or draw another person in the group! If you prefer to work from a photograph, you are welcome to bring in a portrait picture to work from!

Who is teaching us?

Ambi is the club’s Communications Manager with a strong background in Fine Art. Ambi graduated in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art: Printmaking at Brighton University. Since then, she has freelanced for an online art gallery plus various fashion and textile studios. Ambi also manages the club’s Art Exhibitions and has sold her own art work internationally. Ambi’s art practice and speciality lies within screen printing and collage but has a flair for drawing and painting, her most common subject is women in fashion. Bryony graduated this year from University of Glasgow with an MA in Art History & English Literature. She also completed a Foundation in Fine Art at the Royal Drawing School in London. Bryony now assists and leads art workshops around London, including at the Royal Academy of the Arts. Bryony regularly visits current art exhibitions for class inspiration. She is experienced at drawing from life, and enjoys capturing people quickly such as drawing people in coffee shops and on the tube.

Bookings and payments are taken at The Hogarth Club Reception, please be sure to pay at the time of booking to reserve your place. Guests of members are welcome to book in too!
