Lesley Dabson (RBSA CAS HH)
In the 1980’s Lesley gained a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. After taking a break from art to raise her family, Lesley returned to Fine Art. Lesley works predominantly in oil & enjoys painting urban and coastal scenes.
"For my exhibition at The Hogarth Club, I planned to paint Chiswick and near neighbours over the passage of a year. When you stand in front of a subject to paint en plein air, you begin to see things never noticed before.
I visited popular local places, capturing Spring blossom on Staveley Road, Magnolia trees flowering in Bedford Park; High Summer at Chiswick House; Autumnal scenes by the River & Wintery Christmas Trees selling at a local pub.
Working in Chiswick I’ve met many lovely locals, heard wonderful stories and enjoyed capturing some of the local treasures with my brush."
Lesley works both en plein air & in her studio. More of Lesley’s work can be found at The Riverside Gallery in Barnes. Lesley has exhibited with several major societies including: The Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Society of British Artists & The Society of Women Artists.
Lesley is an elected member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists; Chelsea Art Society, currently a serving council member; and a member of the Hesketh Hubbard Life Drawing Society meeting regularly at The Mall Galleries. Her work is in private collections throughout the world. She lives in London & St Ives.
Lesley's exhibition will take place along The Hogarth Club corridor Sunday 7th November – Sunday 5th December 2021.
