Hogarth Christmas Tennis Event 2019
On Friday 6 December, Tennis Coach Shane Hurst hosted a Hogarth Member Christmas Tennis Tournament and Lunch. It was by far the biggest tennis event we have held here at the Hogarth and was a roaring success! With 48 players for the tournament and 60 members for the Christmas lunch and quiz. Thank you to all that got involved, and a big thanks to Shane for organising this fabulous event.
The rain just about held off for the tournament to go ahead and was played in the festive spirit especially after the mulled wine and mince pies came out. Maria set the score in the very first session of the day and managed to hold onto the title until the very last session of the day when Jim and Mahmood moved ahead by one single game. So, congratulations Jim and Mahmood for winning the tournament!
It was then followed by a delicious Christmas lunch in the Crucial Café, the team completely out did themselves with some amazing courses. Then it was time to move onto the quiz, so they all separated into teams and after a very lively and nail biting finish The Dingbats beat Norkfolk and Chance by 1 point! Congratulations has to go to the Dingbats. Lastly, we would like to give a big congratulations to Gill on being awarded the most improved player of the year. You deserved it, and keep up the good work.
