In this article we will explore what we are looking to achieve with the refurbishment, why it’s an important step forward for the Club and what you can look forward to once the works are completed.

New layout has been finalised for the bar, including:
• New layout that will reflect different ‘zones’ for working, relaxing and socialising, modular and versatile for different times of day
• Work has begun on a brand new, nutritionally balanced food offering to support your training and lifestyle here at the Club
• The furniture has been designed, and we are reviewing final drawings in the coming days
• Dedicated space for laptop users in the conservatory, with improved connectivity, power points, and desks an ideal height for comfortable working
Outside, work includes:
• Brand new bike racks, covered by CCTV, along the side of the tennis court
• Kerbs dropped along new pedestrian routes
• New zebra crossings will be painted for clarity and safety
• New planters ordered for a ‘green’, organic feel to the entrance that will help you connect with the seasons as you visit your Club throughout the year

Design and Approach
What We Wanted to Achieve
The new bar represents an exciting leap forward in the vision for The Hogarth Club. We are bringing to the forefront of our Club one of The Hogarth’s most unique features: our atmosphere, our community and the personal connections that can be made here.
Some areas we wanted to improve about the member experience with this refurbishment include:
• A vibrant atmosphere and welcoming social space where you enter your Club
• Bar service available during all Club operating hours*
• Improved seating design and better optimised working & relaxing spaces in the bar
• Dedicated concierge desk for member queries at peak times, in addition to Club reception
*excluding private events
Our Solution
A Brand New Entrance, Bar and Reception
You will notice the bar is now full length, with increased storage above and behind. This is because this desk will now be a multi-functional service space that will eventually be the main entrance for The Hogarth Club.
When the works are completed, members will access The Club where the patio gates currently are, with brand new automatic doors, a redesigned pedestrian access route through the car park, and a reimagined ‘bar’ layout to reflect this change of approach.
This new full length Bar and Welcome Desk will have facility for:
• Club welcome and access control
• Towels
• Drink and snack service
• Food orders
This desk is your welcome to the Club, with a team member on hand during all opening hours that is equipped to offer a friendly hello and a clean towel, a protein shake on your way out or a coffee and a banana bread after your tennis match.
The current reception desk will be moved, and become a dedicated ‘Concierge Desk’ at peak times, where members can come for enquiries, bookings and more, leaving the Welcome Desk free to focus on welcome, bar service and small queries.
Design and Materials
An Approach as Unique as Our Club
Using rustic materials and local suppliers, the new bar design represents a step back to nature within the building. It matches the cherry tree that is the heart of our brand, and has been crafted by hand in a nod to the artistic heritage of The Hogarth name.
This natural feel will be seen throughout the refurbishment, and will go hand in hand with a more organic approach to signage, materials and furnishings throughout the Club.

A health club with a vibrant and engaging atmosphere can offer much more than just fitness equipment and facilities, and can become a true hub for wellness, social connection, and personal growth. This starts at the front door, where we aim to offer a truly ‘Hogarth’ welcome at all hours of day and night.
Bar service available during all Club operating hours (excluding private events)
This is achieved by combining the remit of Bar & Welcome Desk, and creating a separate Concierge Desk at peak times for member queries.
Improved seating design and better optimised working & relaxing spaces in the bar
We will share more details soon for our modular seating plans, including big-screen sports viewing, quick coffee catch-up areas, dedicated workspaces with power, and more traditional ‘pub’ and ‘restaurant’ style nooks for drinks and dining.
Dedicated Concierge Desk for member queries at peak times, separate from Club entrance
Separating these functions at busy periods ensures quality of service for Club access and queries.
