WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy. It is based on the system of zones and reflex areas on the hands and feet that reflect an image of the body. By applying gentle pressure, it helps release any blockages along the energy pathways and stimulates the flow of energy to the corresponding body part. This stimulates the body’s ability to heal itself, physically, emotionally and helps to restore balance of the body.

DOES REFLEXOLOGY HURT?
Contrary to many people’s expectations it is not at all ticklish mainly because the pressure applied is quite firm. For the most part, the sensation is pleasant, soothing and relaxing. There may be discomfort in some areas which is an indication of congestion or imbalance to the corresponding part of the body. After the 1st or 2nd treatment your body may respond in a definite way as the body system balances itself and clears unwanted toxins. You may feel lethargic but this is transitory and is part of the healing process. After a treatment you should drink plenty of water and rest when you can.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
A course of treatments is recommended for specific ailments. An average course might be between 6-8 treatments depending on the condition. Improvements are usually felt after 4 treatments and follow-up sessions are recommended in order to maintain health and well-being. Also individual sessions can be used as an extremely relaxing alternative to a full body massage!
