Who is ebru block

My name is Ebru Bayrak. I’m a registered Nutritional Therapist that specialises in helping busy, stressed out individuals re-gain control of their health to optimise their performance at work and support their overall wellbeing.

No matter what your age and health issue is, my mission is to guide you on your personal path to health and wellness with a practical approach.

I studied Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathy at the reputable CNM in London for four years (DipCNM) and advanced my studies on Nutrigenomics (DNALife) and Health Coaching (Zest4Life) further. I’m registered with BANT, CNHC and ANP.

My approach to nutrition and health is highly personalised. I combine the power of science by Genetic and Functional Testing, with a natural and functional approach to address the root cause of your health concern to bring body back into balance to support the healing process.

Nutritional Therapy applies cutting-edge nutritional and lifestyle medicine research to promote health, peak performance and care. We all know that a good diet and lifestyle are still the best medicine and safeguards for health. While these general guidelines help us to adopt healthier habits, we all vary in our needs.

Although Nutritional Therapy is not an alternative to other medical and psychological therapies, nutrition is a complex biochemical intervention that can immensely affect both the structure and function of your body at a molecular level.

Providing the right balance of food and lifestyle habits for your unique needs can have a powerful effect on your body and can offer a sense of control over your wellbeing and quality of life.

Whatever your goal is, I aim to help identifying the root cause of your concern from functional medicine perspective and bring back the body to its optimum balance naturally.

Ebru story block

I grew up in the Mediterranean and experienced the influence of real, healthy food on personal wellbeing and happiness from an early age. My passion for nutrition became stronger when my own health was challenged with a fast paced, corporate working and travelling lifestyle. I suffered with IBS, stress, hormonal and skin imbalances for a long time and started to have autoimmune issues. I began to question orthodox practices prescribed for my conditions and wanted a sustainable solution that pinpointed the source of my issues. Thus began my journey with nutrution,

I had an urge to understand more about the seemingly complex nature of chronic disease, human nature, nutrition and the connections between them all.

I was astonished by profound and lasting results by making simple, yet effective changes to my diet and lifestyle. I believe that small, key changes in our everyday lives can create a profound, positive impact. I encourage people to take their health into their own hands, using great nutrition, life style changes and coaching to build a strong, healthy body and life. I live and breathe my “Health is the true Wealth” motto and my mission is to spread this mindset as far and wide as possible!

Before we have an initial consultation, we arrange a free 25-minute mini consultation to ensure my services are appropriate for your needs. If we decide to proceed, you will be emailed a detailed questionnaire and food diary for 4 days to fill out and email back in advance (at least 48 hours before your session) of your session. The standard consultation usually lasts around 60-90 minutes during which time you will be asked detailed questions about current health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication and supplements and diet.

We then will work together to create individualised goals and a plan based around dietary changes, lifestyle modifications and supplementation. Functional and genetic testing is a big part of my work to be able to ascertain the myriad of imbalances driving your symptoms. You will receive an extensive written report with personalised nutrition and lifestyle recommendations designed specifically to your needs within 5 working days. In order to dig deeper into your health issues and understand your goals and to work through a new eating plan, we will need to work together over a period of time. A ‘one-off ’ appointment is unlikely to help you.

The length of your programme will depend on your current status and what you want to achieve but will range from 6 weeks to 36 weeks. My programmes include:

• Initial 90 minute Personal Consultation including in-depth health and lifestyle assessment
• Follow-up consultations
• 2-3 hours research on your case outside of each 1 hour appointment
• Personalised menu planning and recipes
• Weekly food diary analysis - depending on the programme
• E-mail & Whatsapp support in between - depending on the programme
• Coaching tools for motivation and sustained changes
• Personalised supplement advice, functional testing (additional investment) and interpretation
• Current medication and nutrient interaction evaluation if applicable

Packages start at £390.

"Having tried various diets over the years I needed better understanding about good and bad foods and the right supplements suitable for me as I am a vegetarian. Since attending Ebru’s sessions I am far more aware of the foods that I should be eating and avoiding those that are bad for my health. I made the necessary changes and have seen great results. Thank you so much for your guidance."

Immunity is in Your Gut!

Your immune system is the most powerful weapon you have against disease. It stops invaders like viruses from accessing your body, and if they breach these defences, actively hunts down and destroys them, preventing them from reproducing inside you.

Just like any other bodily system however, your immune system needs support to be able to function at its optimal best. A bit like making sure the conditions are right when you plant a seed, you can nurture the right environment for your immune system to thrive too. And paying close attention to what your immune system needs is the most useful action you can take to help your body do its job properly.

Manage stress article block

April is Stress Awareness Month. In recognition of this, Nutritional Therapist Ebru explains how stress can effect the physiology of our bodies along with key nutrition and lifestyle solutions.

Stress is all around us. According to the Mental Health Foundation, almost three quarters of the UK population have felt so stressed over the previous year, they've been overwhelmed or unable to cope. Within this article, I hope to aid a clear understanding of stress, how it can target the function of our internal and physical health, symptoms to be aware of and how nutrition can best defend us against damage or disease and overall reduce stress itself.
