Workshop Itinerary
Welcome and Introduction
Goran will begin by introducing the concept of fascia and sharing a personal story about how he came to understand its importance in movement and recovery. Goran will ask participants if they’ve ever experienced muscle tightness or unexplained discomfort, and explain how fascia plays a significant role in those sensations (fascia has 6 to 10 times more sensory nerves than muscles).
Understanding Fascia and Myofascial Meridians
Goran will explain what fascia is, how it works, and how myofascial meridians connect the body. Using a prop, like a rubber band or plastic bag, Goran will demonstrate how fascia holds tension and its other properties such as plasticity, viscosity, and its ability to remodel.
Posture and Breathing Techniques for Fascia Health
Goran will explain how maintaining a neutral posture and proper breathing can positively affect fascia, helping to release tension and improve flexibility. We’ll practice finding a neutral posture, followed by a guided breathing session.
Foam Rolling Techniques
Goran will demonstrate foam rolling techniques targeting common areas of tension such as the legs, back, and core. Participants will have a chance to try the techniques themselves, and Goran will offer tips on adjusting pressure and focusing on specific trigger points.
Myofascial Meridian Movement
Goran will explain how movement affects myofascial meridians and demonstrate exercises that engage these pathways. Together, you’ll practice a sequence of flowing movements that target multiple meridians, such as trunk rotations, planks, single rows, etc.
Practical Exercise Demonstration
Participants will be divided into smaller groups and assigned to group exercises that target specific meridians. Goran will guide you through how these exercises benefit fascia and encourage you to share your thoughts on how the movements feel.
Q&A and Closing
Goran will open the floor for any questions about fascia, exercises, or anything else participants would like to know. To close, Goran will summarise the key points about breathing, movement, and foam rolling for healthy fascia.
