At London Sports Therapy our mission is to eliminate your pain and prime you for performance. 

While we can provide you with some immediate relief from symptoms, we want to return you to free-flowing, fully-functional movement. We do this by assessing your condition, pinpointing the root causes of your discomfort, and working with you towards enduring rehabilitation. 

Our practitioners have decades of experience with people of all ages and backgrounds. We work with elite athletes, recreational sportspeople and anyone suffering from aches and pains. Josie Mitchell

BSc (Hons) MSST

Josie Mitchell London Sports Therapy

After working with professional athletes and sportspeople, Josie founded London Sports Therapy in 1999 to bring her expertise to a broad client base across West and Central London.

With a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy, she has trained in the Integrated Systems Model, Thoracic Ring Approach™, and ConnectTherapy™, and continues to build on her knowledge and skills through further professional development and qualifications. She is a certified running coach, having trained under the tutelage of one of the world’s preeminent running specialists.

Josie also acts as a consultant, and has helped to instruct and mentor other therapists, and to establish new clinics.

Josie was a keen Crossfitter and runner for over five years and has now transitioned over to Olympic Weightlifting and Calisthenics. She was the British Masters champion in 2024 in her age and weight class in olympic weightlifting and silver medalist in 2025. Josie has first hand experience of the rigours of physical activity.

She regularly contributes to articles published by ASICS.

 

 

Richard Stennett

Sport Rehabilitation Specialist

Richard Stennett

Richard is an experienced Sport Rehabilitation Specialist with a strong academic and clinical background. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Sport Science from The University of Edinburgh, an MSc in Musculoskeletal Sport Science and Health from Loughborough University, and a BASRaT-accredited MSc in Sport Rehabilitation from St Mary’s University, Twickenham.

Currently pursuing a PhD at Loughborough University, his research focuses on Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) and the investigating the effect of exercise rehabilitation interventions on musculoskeletal health. Alongside his research, he plays an active role in academia at Loughborough University, teaching on the various Rehabilitation and Strength & Conditioning programmes.

He has previously worked in women’s football, primarily with Dorking Wanderers Women’s FC, where he provided pitch-side care and led the club’s clinical team. This role involved the development of injury screening protocols, implementation of rehabilitation programmes, and supporting player performance.

As a researcher and practitioner, he has presented at numerous international conferences and has published work in various scientific journals. More recently he won a Medical Research Grant to travel to the United States in Summer 2025, where he will conduct a study at the Western States Endurance Run (WSER) – what is considered the world’s oldest and one of the most challenging 100 mile trail races.

He is also a member of the European College of Sport Science (ECSS) and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM), ensuring he remains at the forefront of advancements in sports science and rehabilitation.

 

Fin Medd

MSc BASRat – GSR

Fin Medd London Sports TherapyFin’s interest in rehabilitation began early, inspired by his father’s recovery from a severe spinal injury. His own experiences with shoulder and hand injuries strengthened his passion for helping others overcome physical challenges, leading him to pursue a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and then a Masters in Sports Rehabilitation.

Fin has worked with high-performing athletes, including boxers, dancers, and endurance athletes. This experience deepened his understanding of the physical demands of elite performance. He also volunteered as a complementary therapist at St Joseph’s Hospice, where he specialised in palliative care to broaden his skill set beyond athletic clients and improve the quality of life for patients.

A former high-level rugby player, Fin now focuses on endurance sports, specialising in the triathlon disciplines. He has completed the London Marathon and participated in events across Europe, including the Nice Half-Ironman, giving him unique insight into the demands of endurance sports.

He worked at Ten Health & Fitness, refining his manual therapy skills and developing rehabilitation programs alongside physiotherapists for a wide range of clients. Under Josie’s mentorship programme he gained an understanding of the holistic approach used at LST developing new techniques and modalities, now working alongside Richard and Josie.
